Groovy Amsterdam
Posted On Sunday, April 30, 2000 at at 12:04 AM by AlvinAmsterdam was just one groovy city with its many canals, bars and cafes. We happened to be in Amsterdam during the Queen's Birthday (Queen's Day), April 30th of each year, where the whole city turned into one gigantic party with music and people dancing on every street; we really enjoyed our day-out and saw revellers really letting their hair down and enjoying themselves.
We lived in a small Dutch town called Tiel some 100 km south of Amsterdam and although the drive to work was a bit of a fuss, we enjoyed our peace in this quiet little town. We frequently travelled up to Amsterdam, meeting up with friends and Mandy even once tried some "Local" cakes which afterwards she got pretty high -yeh, pretty "spaced-out" really.
We really loved this country where we hardly saw a hill and the friendly Dutch people were very tall - we were absolutely dwarfed whenever we went shopping in the market and we disappeared in the crowd !
