My First Puotonghua Presentation In Beijing
Posted On Wednesday, August 22, 2001 at at 7:38 PM by AlvinA 3 hours flight to Beijing this morning was hardly enough time to polish up on my My First Puotonghua (普通話) Presentation to a Chinese Bank ! But I somehow managed and the client seemed to be impressed enough to want us to visit their site tomorrow.
My colleague and I were delighted although we were only prepared for a day trip from HK and only had with us, our laptops, mobile phones and our suits ! Luckily the excellent and fantastically designed and equipped hotels in the business district of Chao Yang (朝陽區) offered us everything from tooth brush to a bottle of mouth-watering Claret for this sojourn. As a result, we presented ourselves the following day in top form, the clients were impressed and we won our very first project in mainland China, yee ha !
