Spring time had arrived and we took the opportunity to visit The Big Buddha on Lantau Island by travelling on the Ngong Ping 360 Cable Car - a fun day out ! After taking lunch at the relaxing and modern shopping arcade of CityGate located at Tung Chung, we took the cable car up the windy Lantau Island mountains. The journey took less than 30 minutes where our eyes were feasted with some glorious scenary of the Chek Lap Kok Airport, oysters growing communities and villages, lush green countryside and finally a glimpse of The Big Buddha at a distance. The Ngong Ping village was not as packed as we had thought during this time of the year and it was a relaxing 15 minutes' walk to the Buddha site. A note worth mentioning is that my Nanny - Yin (燕姐) who brought us up some years back, had her Place Of Worship arranged at the Ancestral Quarters located at the base of The Big Buddha, so I took this opportunity to call in and said a quick "Hello" by lighting a few of the customary worshipping incense sticks.
