The Golden Rock At Kyaiktiyo

We left Yangon at 430a.m. for the kidney-busting 6-hours bus ride to Kinpun, where we caught an open-top truck up to The Golden Rock. Little did we know, the truck stopped at the “entrance” where we then had to hike 45 degrees up for 2 hours before we caught sight of the truly inspiring Golden Rock. Having spent a night at Kinpun (nice cold beers but lousy food), we made our way back to Yangon via Bago where we spent an interesting afternoon visiting a few Buddhist temples.
