Heat in Yangon
Posted On Monday, January 22, 2007 at at 9:30 PM by AlvinWe arrived in Yangon via Bangkok this morning and we had plenty of time to explore Yangon followed by a chilli-hot dinner at a local restaurant where the chairs were so low that we felt as if we were squatting. Still trying to get used to this heat and humidity...and we spent an hour in the Traders Hotel to cool off. Very interesting city ! We went at night to the city's main stupa - Shwedagon, the lights and reflections were magical and the atmosphere was one of calm and peace as there were local families strolling quietly around this justly famous stupa.
