A Relaxing Escape To The North Of Thailand - Chiang Mai

Chiang Mai had left us a good impression after we last visited in 2007 and this time round we planned our trip with a bit of relaxation in mind; quite unlike the whirlwind stay in the past. So we based ourselves about 20 minutes north of town but most importantly, there was a TESCO within 10 minutes' walk to satisfy our self-catering needs. The area we stayed surprised us with its laid-back and rural atmosphere where we found a huge cluster of gardening centres - selling plants, trees, fish tanks, statues, potteries and all manners of gardening gadgets. We strolled around the centre and outskirt of Chiang Mai everyday to visit the famous temples, China Town, the moat walls and arrived back to the apartment in time for a relaxing movie. We could do nothing but chilled out and wind-down. Life simply took on a completely different pace - just wonderful !
