Exploring The Seaside City Of Hua Hin

We have been meaning to come visit the seaside city of Hua Hin for a while, but the thought of the three hours' journey held us back somewhat. But hey, the trunk roads leaving Bangkok towards Hua Hin were actually 6-lanes and almost free of traffic on the morning we left the Asoke area in Bangkok. And the nice driver stopped for a mid-way leg rest made it even more agreeable. Along the way, we saw numerous Buddhist Temples and Stupas with huge (usually golden) statues of the Big Guy and high ranking monks who achieved great religious attainment.
We stayed about 3km outside Hua Hin in a decent suburb full of low rise villas with manicured gardens. HH itself was sleepy and the streets, malls and beaches were occupied mostly by local and foreign retirees. Our daily routines pretty much consisted of swimming, drinking coffee, watching Netflix and the occasional outings to HH and local temples. I did cycle out a few times to get my hair cut and did a bit of shopping at the fresh sea food markets. One word best describe our month-long stay : Relaxation ! What else ?
