Blue Blue December Day In Hong Kong - Ideal For The 3rd Jab And A Day Out !

After a rather unexpected busy Summer of swimming in the golden beaches and hygienic pools in Hong Kong and weeks of singing lessons for Mandy, Winter arrived quietly with a few weeks of continuous sunny days and blue sky. We booked ourselves an appointment at the TSW Sports Centre, for the third vaccine shots provided by the Chinese Central Government (bless them !) and organised by the efficient HKG Government (bless them too !). The whole vaccination process went as smoothly as in the past two shots and having no side effects apart from pangs of hunger, we headed off to our urban hike to visit the old and new landmarks of this beautiful city. We first went to TST East to pay tribute to our folk hero, Bruce and said our G'day; then we walked along the promenade to the TST Clock Tower and took a ferry across to Hong Kong Island, seating ourselves on the lower deck to have a good sniff of the diesel fume, for old time nostalgia sake.

Off we stepped, out to the Central business district and rubbed shoulders with office ladies and business suits types and spent a casual stroll along the Ferris wheel and onto the Government HQ. We had lunch at Fortress Hill and took a peek at the new iconic Central-Wan Chai Bypass Ventilator - rather disappointing - just a low structure, ten meters in height, resembling a cone of soft ice cream. We then braved the crowded MTR to view the just-opened M+ Museum as well as the not-yet-opened Palace Museum, not spectacular but the blue sky helped to make them more photogenic. Our legs informed us enough was enough and we felt glad to have made an outing on such a glorious blue blue day !
