Moving On From Bustling Bangkok And Hitting The Brakes In Sleepy Hua Hin

After the weeks of rather hectic sightseeing in K.L. and the euphoria experienced at the Chinese New Year celebration in Bangkok, we hit the brakes and decided to spend a month at the peaceful seaside city of Hua Hin. The pace of life slowed from the rushing and crushing in the busy city sky trains to, hours-long breakfast with a few creamy expresso as well as ample time to sit back and watch a few movies over the Internet, all in the rural and green settings of Hua Hin.
We were somewhat at a lost when we stepped off our hired car and felt a definite change of pace in Hua Hin - gone were the multi-lane traffic (just two days ago we were stuck on a local Bangkok bus, packed and windows all opened, slowly inching its way through the 4km over 45 minutes ...) and gone were also the thundering of the tens of motorbikes (Electric bikes had not yet caught on here, I'm afraid ...) at the red lights. Here in our Hua Hin suburb, hardly a car or motorbike could be seen or heard and I went around shopping on my bicycle, yay !
